BE a sound engineer/gear manager at LOUD!

The sound engineer/gear manager is responsible for organizing and maintaining all of the musical and technical equipment at camp, rigging and running soundchecks, concerts and demo recording sessions. The sound engineer/gear manager support bandcoaches and participants on technical matters if needed, and participates in games and social activities when they can.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have had practical experience working as a sound engineer and have a general understanding of broader technical equipment (sound, lighting, video etc)

  • Is structured and methodical

  • Is passionate about mentoring youth and help them gain confidence in musical-technical matters

  • Enjoy participating in games and social activities

  • Is a responsible and safe adult

  • Is independent, patient and enjoys working with children and youth

  • Identifies with LOUD!’s objectives

If you have a driver’s license and is comfortable with driving a van, that’s also a plus!

We can offer:

  • An inspiring and educating experience

  • Support from other teachers, the LOUD! team and volunteers

  • A leadership seminar, where you will learn about LOUD!'s pedagogy, methods, leadership skills and tools to make the camp safe and fun for participants, volunteers and teachers. The seminar dates for 2024 is May 3th-5th (Obligatory participation!).

  • A set wage for the whole week

  • Travel, lodging and board expenses are covered

If this sounds like fun, fill out the application form and upload your CV! The 2024 camps will be held at  Haugetun Folkehøgskole, Rolvsøy, just outside of Fredrikstad. Leaders and volunteers will be working on either June 22nd - June 28th (week 1 - participants arrive on the 23rd) or June 29th -July 5th (week 2 - participants arrive on the 30th).
