LOUD! Songs is a new initiative from LOUD! that aims to create safer spaces for underrepresented genders within production and songwriting. We want to create an arena where producers, songwriters and musicians with professional ambitions in the music industry can explore roles they haven't necessarily explored before in songwriting sessions on a professional level, with our LOUD! pedagogy which centers around creative exploration, community and confidence building as the backdrop.
LOUD! Songs Nordic is open for applicants from all of the Nordic countries who want to participate in a fun, creative weekend where you get to make music, share experiences, build network and make new connections. There are 24 available spots in total, primarily for participants from 18 to 30 years of age, however we strongly encourage you to apply if you are slightly older or younger.
The camp will take place at a cabin in Svarstad, approximately 1 hour outside of Oslo.
Shared transport by bus will be set up on the day of arrival and departure.
Arrivals in Oslo by 14:30 on Wednesday Oct 23rd – check in at the LOUD! Songs cabin at 16:00.
Check out at 12:00 on Sunday Oct 27th, back in Oslo at approx. 13.30.
All travel costs will be covered for the selected participants. We will contact you individually regarding your travel. There is no participation fee, but note that if you are selected the participation is binding. Food will be provided all camp days.
Thursday through Saturday you will be put into songwriting teams. The teams will be put together based on musical preferences and experience. We will set up 6 makeshift studios in the cabin with gear that we'll bring with us.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own computer/audio interface/microphone/instrument (whatever applies to your chosen role), but there will be (basic) equipment available if needed. If you're unable to bring your own gear, make sure to let us know in the form so we can plan ahead. A gear list will be provided along with other practical information leading up to the camp.
Applications for this project is now closed. Check this page or our activities calendar for possible future opportunities.
